My name is Jackie Luo. I am a mother, ex-entrepreneur, and investor. More than 30 years ago, I came to the United States on a university scholarship to pursue a PhD in economics, however, I eventually found that it was not my passion. Nevertheless, I ended up staying in the United States. Over the course of my career, I have been a radio broadcaster, an executive with large technology companies, and a CEO of a software business. Most importantly, I have raised two girls on my own, teaching them to be intellectually curious, think critically, and commit to achieving their full potential.
I have learned so much by persevering through many failures, disappointments, and even burnouts. Today, I have achieved many of the goals that I set for myself when I first left China 30 years ago, but my journey to make a good life for myself continues. While it’s important to set goals and try to achieve them, it’s more important to enjoy the journey and explore your true potential. Pursuing personal growth should be a continuous endeavor.
To grow, you need to listen to your heart, tune out the noises, and chart your own path. You need to believe that you deserve a fulfilling and beautiful life, especially during tough times. Life has its ups and downs but, just like any business, you want to be your own CEO. You want to train yourself mentally and physically, every day, so you can navigate the turmoil and uncertainty to sail to your destiny.
That’s why I have created this blog. I want to share my thoughts and experiences that have helped me become my own CEO. Hopefully, these can be of inspiration to you.
